Abstract Erastus Wright Daily moved to Ventura County with his brothers, Charles J., and Wendell P., in the 1880s. He started out as an employee on Patterson Ranch and eventually owned his own successful farm in Camarillo, cultivating sugar beets, lima beans, and walnuts. E.W. Daily and Etta Amelia Crowley Daily had four daughters, Nellie, Bernice, Ruth, and Gladys. The philanthropic family donated often to local charities and causes. Hobson family papers

Abstract

These papers were created by one branch of the Hobson family, early settlers in what is now known as Ventura County. Abram Lincoln Hobson (1861 – 1929) owned land throughout southern California and was an owner of Hobson Brothers Packing Company and Hobson City Markets. He was also actively involved in the local community. The documents include both business and personal correspondence and papers relating to his land holdings and business interests.

Peirano family papers

Abstract

The Peiranos were a family of Italian immigrants who arrived in Ventura County in the late nineteenth century. They owned land throughout the county, but their ownership of Peirano Market, a mainstay of downtown Ventura businesses for nearly one hundred years, made them an integral part of the community's identity. These papers include both their personal and property related legal documents.
